Pet & Assistance Animal Policy We are proud to be a pet-friendly company. Residents may enjoy the companionship of pets and assistance animals in accordance with this policy and all applicable federal, state, and local laws. A. Permitted Pets Acceptable pets are limited to the following domesticated animals: • Dogs • Cats • Caged birds • Fish (aquariums only) A maximum of two (2) pets per apartment is permitted. There is no weight limit for pets. Fish tanks exceeding fifty (50) gallons may be subject to applicable pet fees, restrictions, or prior written approval, as determined by the community. B. Prohibited Pets Unacceptable pets include, but are not limited to: • Aggressive or dangerous animals • Reptiles (including snakes and lizards) • Ferrets • Rabbits • Rodents (including mice and rats) • Certain dog breeds may be restricted, including but not limited to: • Pit Bulls • Rottweilers • Chow Chows • Dobermans Brookside Properties reserves the right to prohibit any pet that exhibits aggressive behavior or is otherwise deemed unacceptable. C. Licensing, Vaccination & Identification All pets must be properly licensed and inoculated as required by local law. Residents must maintain current licenses and vaccinations and furnish documentation upon request. Pets must wear any identification or tags required by applicable law. D. Pet Conduct, Control & Common Areas Pets are not permitted to run loose at any time. Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than ten (10) feet when outside the apartment home. Pets are not permitted in restricted common areas, including but not limited to: • Laundry rooms • Clubhouses • Pool areas • Playgrounds • Athletic facilities • Lakes No pet may be leashed to a stationary object, left unattended outside the apartment home, or left unattended on patios, balconies, or decks. Commercial breeding of pets within the property is strictly prohibited. E. Waste Removal & Sanitation Pets must be relieved only in designated or natural areas
